5 – Identifying Target objects position


Development of a system to determine the precise position of the target objects (mainly pallets) relative to the AGV in order to perform the loading and unloading process.

Nowadays, any imprecision in the knowledge of the picking position of the target objects, mainly pallets, would cause the failure of the AGV mission.

The aim of PAN-Robots is an autonomous pallet handling system to detect and pick the pallet. Thus, currently required precision of the pallet position (within millimeter) will no longer be required, since the pallet is detected by an on-board sensor system.
